The Science Section is one of the most vital parts of the university, as it serves as a conduit between the university's science and the university's researchers through scientific breakthroughs like patenting and sound scientific research that aid in the institution's local and global advancement. The Scientific Affairs Section cares about keeping tabs on academic journals that the University has put out and quality control of research prior to avoid publishing them in predatory and hijacked journals. Since the Scientific Affairs Section represents the interface of the Ministry and other Universities.

It also oversees the participation of university scholars in science and other science competitions, such as the Higher Education Prize for Medical and Health Sciences, and manages and organizes conferences, symposiums, and seminars at the University. Organizing various workshops to strengthen this scientific culture is crucial in increasing the general public's understanding of scientific and cultural issues and facilitating the publication of more in-depth research by university faculty and students.

The Scientific Affairs Section, jointly with the Computing Centre, has established unique systems to aid in the task of increasing scientific outputs from research and patents, as well as the preservation of all data from research, conferences, symposiums, panels, books for all colleges and research institutions.
