Academic Planning
Academic planning encompasses all areas of academic life, such as research development, sustainable development, organizing resources, supporting researchers, and constructing infrastructure on human and spatial scales, in addition to an explicit emphasis on long-term academic decision-making , and planning for the following academic years with five- and ten-year strategies... etc., and the institution's significant judgments. Principals are devoted to advancing knowledge and opportunities that support research and technical advancement.
The University of Babylon Council seeks that all university personnel, scholars, and graduate students are aware of the essential learning standards and academic possibilities so that they can make research-related decisions based on their interests, skills, and abilities. During the educational planning process, the university desires to have mechanisms that ensure flexibility, effectiveness, and response to the university's needs in particular, the needs of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the needs of the Iraqi government in general, in addition to providing educational opportunities that help enrich the labor market with qualified graduates who can contribute to the future of their country and nation effectively. In light of the preceding and the university's future growth plans, the university president has established an academic planning team charged with designing and developing the university's educational planning process following agreed-upon guidelines, objectives, determining factors, and directives. The work team comprised representatives from all University of Babylon structures, including the Office of the President, the deanships of the faculties, and the many research deployed by the university. The planning team was tasked with reviewing and analyzing comparable experiences at other universities, including "program prioritization" standards and methodologies to prioritize new program proposals and check the performance of existing programs to confirm the alignment of programs with institutional strategies and priorities.
