With the beginning of each academic year, the Dormitory and Housing Department at the University of Babylon opens its doors to students from different Iraqi governorates. The number of students who choose to reside at our dormitories has increased year after year because of the modern and advanced educational programs and facilities that our university provides, in addition to the new faculties and scientific branches that have been established. The dormitories have a great role in providing sufficient services and comfortable housing for students, and we relentlessly strive to improve our services by expanding the housing capacity over the next years. In addition to providing comfortable and convenient housing services to students, the Dormitory and Housing Department organizes various cultural, sport, and scientific events throughout the year, and seeks to include its students in the events held within the University of Babylon. We strive to provide a safe and welcoming environment to ensure the smooth integration of students from outside Babil into the university community by introducing them to the cultural and historical heritage of this city with its ancient civilization.

The Department of Dormitories and Housing was established at the University of Babylon in 1993. After the expansion of University of Babylon, which has now reached a total number of 21 colleges, it was necessary to develop the facilities and services provided to the students. The department is responsible for the registration and follow up of students who are enrolled in morning and evening programs at our university and reside at our dormitories. When applying for a residence at one of our dormitories, the department will determine which dormitory the student will stay at according to their college. Our office hours are from 08.00 a.m. to 03.00 p.m., followed by an evening shift of male and female supervisors which starts from 02.00 p.m. to 08.00 a.m. next morning.
