University of Babylon Advances Media Education with Training Radio Launch

Professor Dr. Amean Ajeel Al-Yasir, President of the University of Babylon, inaugurated the radio station in the Media Department of the Faculty of Arts, in the presence of his assistants: Professor Dr. Mohammed Mansour Al-Khafaji, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs; Professor Dr. Mythaq Talib Al-Jubouri, Assistant President for Administrative Affairs; Dr. Selwan Al-Ubaidi, Dean of the College; Dr. Amer Al-Marzoq, Dean of the Faculty of Arts; Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Shammari, Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences; Assistant Dr. Anas Abbas Ghazwan, Head of the Media Department; along with a number of deans and department heads, as well as an elite group of Media Department faculty members and students from the College of Arts. The University President affirmed that the University of Babylon continues to provide an integrated educational environment that combines academic and practical aspects, pointing out that the training radio station will contribute to developing students practical skills and qualifying them to engage efficiently in the media job market. He added that the opening of the training radio station comes as part of the University of Babylon s strategy to develop university education and enhance its role in serving the community and building media-qualified competencies. Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Selwan Al-Ubaidi, explained that this project is part of the college s plans to develop academic programs and keep pace with modern developments in the field of media, ensuring the graduation of students who possess practical experience and knowledge alongside a solid theoretical foundation. For his part, the Head of the Media Department clarified that the training radio station will serve as an effective training platform to hone students skills in radio production, preparation, and presentation, in addition to simulating the real work environment within media institutions.
