University of Babylon Hosts Third International Conference on Informatics Innovation.

Under the patronage and presence of the President of the University of Babylon, Professor Dr. Amean Ajeel Al-Yasir, the Faculty of Information Technology inaugurated its third annual international conference, specialized in “Innovation in Informatics, Networks, and Information Security.” The conference was held in cooperation with the German institution Springer and with official support from the Scientific Engineers Club. The opening ceremony witnessed high-level academic attendance, including the Vice President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Mohammed Mansour Al-Khafaji, the Dean of the Faculty of Science, as well as faculty members, researchers, and undergraduate and postgraduate students.
In his speech on behalf of the University President, the Dean of the College of Information Technology, Dr. Wissam Sameer Bahiya, indicated that the conference focuses on three axes that feed the requirements of the digital age: intelligent informatics, networks, and cybersecurity. The conference achieved qualitatively high and highly competitive acceptance rates, as 64 papers were received and 18 were accepted. The evaluation process was carried out by more than 120 scientific reviewers, and the participation was characterized by great diversity from more than 34 universities, including 14 Iraqi and 19 international universities.
For his part, the Chair of the Conference Organizing Committee, Professor Dr. Safaa Abees Al-Maamouri, emphasized the strategic importance of this scientific gathering in consolidating the scientific competence of the Iraqi researcher and contributing effectively to raising the global rankings of Iraqi universities. He also stressed the conference’s role in enriching the experience of Iraqi academics and encouraging them to publish in prestigious international journals. The representative of the Scientific Engineers Club, which supports the conference, also shed light on the pivotal role of the conference in driving comprehensive digital transformation and providing innovative solutions to serve society.
The activities of the first day included a specialized lecture delivered by Dr. Mohammed Anbar via teleconferencing, in which he reviewed the latest artificial intelligence techniques and their contribution to rapid modern developments, highlighting promising future trends in the fields of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and networks.
The conference activities will continue on the second day with specialized scientific sessions, which will begin with a lecture delivered by Dr. Hussein Al-Rubaie from Microsoft in the United States of America, entitled “How Artificial Intelligence Shapes the Labor Market: Challenges and New Job Opportunities,” before resuming the scientific sessions to discuss the accepted papers and then present the final recommendations of the conference.
