Under the patronage of the President of the University of Babylon, Professor Dr. Amean Ajeel Al-Yasir , and the supervision of the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Meethaq Talib Al-Jubouri, the University of Babylon achieved a remarkable presence in the Iraqi Universities Badminton Championship. The male students team seized second place (the runner-up), while the female students team won third place (the bronze) in the championship organized by the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority / Student Activities Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The event was hosted by Ashur Private University and included participation from 45 Iraqi governmental and private universities.
The Director of the Student Activities Department at the University Presidency, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Kazem Mansour Al-Khafaji, explained that the achieved results reflect the support of the University Presidency and its genuine desire to develop university sports and empower youth talents. He affirmed the university s continued sponsorship of sports activities for both male and female students alike. Al-Khafaji also expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Professor Dr. Rafid Abdul Amir Naji, the respected dean, for the continuous and ongoing support of sports competitions.
