The University of Babylon achieved first place in the Distinguished University Award in the field of scientific research at the national level in Iraq, in recognition of its pioneering role in supporting scientific research and enhancing the quality of knowledge and innovation. This was announced during a ceremony held by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with the global Clarivate institution at the Iraq Education Conference 2025, attended by representatives from prominent international institutions, academic figures, and diplomats.
The Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, affirmed that the achievements over the past three years represent a fundamental transformation in Iraqi university education, elevating its position on the global academic map, with a focus on innovation, internationalization, and expanding international partnerships.
The University President, Professor Dr. Amean Ajeel Al-Yasir , praised the ongoing efforts to develop the research environment, encourage the publication of research, and support applied projects that serve the community. He clarified that this victory reflects the university’s commitment to its mission of serving knowledge, while continuing to strengthen the culture of research and innovation as a foundation for sustainable development.
