A team of six female students from the University of Babylon’s Architecture Department qualified for the finals of the prestigious Tamayuz International Award, ranking among the top 20 architectural projects worldwide. Their project, focusing on revitalizing the historic Baghdad–Berlin railway station as a multi-modal transport hub with a strong emphasis on sustainability and heritage preservation, was selected from over 110 entries from 28 countries.
The award is part of the first Arab Architecture Festival (HEAR), held in Baghdad from October 1 to 5, 2025, under the patronage of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al Sudani. The festival aims to promote Baghdad as a major cultural and architectural center. Experts will judge the finalists to award prizes totaling $10,000. The festival includes lectures, discussions, city tours, and an awards ceremony.
