Professor Dr. Ameen Al-Yasiri, President of the University of Babylon, attended the ceremony honoring the recipients of the Arabic Language and Literature Award, hosted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Minister Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi presented the awards, underscoring the ministry’s commitment to fostering cultural awareness and academic innovation.
Dr. Al-Aboudi highlighted that the award is part of the ministry’s broader initiative to cultivate an academic environment that nurtures creativity and supports sustainable scientific and cultural engagement. The event also featured remarks from key figures including Deputy Minister Dr. Adnan Ibrahim Al-Jumaili, Iraqi Scientific Academy President Dr. Muhammad Hussein Al-Yassin, and Prime Minister’s Cultural Advisor Dr. Aref Al-Saadi.
The ceremony concluded with prize distributions: five million dinars for first place, three million for second, and two million for third. Additionally, several institutional leaders were recognized for their support of the initiative.
Dr. Al-Yasiri’s involvement reflects the University of Babylon’s ongoing commitment to advancing the Arabic language and its prominence within the academic community.
