Professor Amin Al-Yasiri, President of Babylon University, received the national institutional accreditation evaluation delegation led by Professor Khalid Shanawa, accompanied by Professor Mohammed Mansour Al-Khafaji, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Meethaq Talib Al-Jubouri, Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Sawsan Jassim Ubaid, Director of the Quality Assurance Department, along with several deans and university staff. This visit was part of the ongoing field evaluation procedures for granting the university institutional accreditation.
During the committee meeting, the university president emphasized that Babylon University is steadily advancing toward excellence and quality by implementing an ambitious plan based on applying quality assurance standards and academic accreditation, believing in its role in preparing a scientific and professional generation capable of meeting future challenges.
The Assistant President for Scientific Affairs presented a detailed overview of the university’s capabilities, including its colleges, scientific departments, and research centers, as well as the advanced international rankings achieved by Babylon University. He also highlighted the university’s pioneering digital initiatives, such as developing electronic platforms provided to the ministry, the province, and various institutions, which significantly reduced reliance on paper-based work.
Professor Meethaq Talib Al-Jubouri, Assistant President for Administrative Affairs, pointed to the university’s efforts in organizing administrative work and applying institutional governance standards, which enhance performance efficiency and create an integrated educational and administrative environment.
Dr. Sawsan Jassim Ubaid, Director of the Quality Assurance Department, outlined the department’s main achievements over recent years, emphasizing the scientific and administrative accomplishments that contributed to strengthening the academic process and promoting a culture of quality within the university.
The ministerial team conducted a detailed five-day tour across the university’s colleges, visiting classrooms and holding open dialogues with a number of students to hear their evaluations regarding teaching quality, the educational environment, and the various services provided.
At the conclusion of the visit, Professor Marwan Abdul Hamid Ashour, representative of the evaluation team, delivered the closing statement, expressing gratitude and appreciation to the university leadership and staff for their great cooperation and efforts in supporting the institutional accreditation process, praising the level of readiness and transparency in institutional work.
