Academics at the University of Babylon propose a comprehensive strategy that involves all segments of society and both official and unofficial state institutions to address the negative challenges of globalization on Iraqi youth and society. This aims to enable them to benefit from the advantages of globalization while preserving their national identity.
In a study titled "Globalization and Its Reflections on the Reality of Iraqi Youth," conducted by Dr. Mawj Ali Hussein and Dr. Hussam Zafar Rahim, globalization is shown as an economic and social phenomenon that poses significant challenges. It is considered a threat to the intellectual and moral security of societies, particularly youth who imitate what they see in the media, affecting their orientations, thoughts, behaviors, and morals.
The study recommends raising awareness among Iraqi youth through workshops and courses to open their horizons and alert them to the risks of globalization. It also suggests mobilizing scientific efforts in various social and humanitarian fields to determine the best ways to absorb globalization and utilize it without losing cultural and religious identity. It is believed that the combination of community and scientific efforts can contribute to finding sustainable solutions to these challenges, enhancing the ability of Iraqi youth to keep pace with the times without negatively impacting their national identity.
