Under the patronage of the President of the University of Babylon, Prof. Dr. Amin Al-Yasiri, and under the supervision of the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mansour Al-Khafaji, the university, through the efforts of its professors and researchers, has achieved a new scientific accomplishment that adds to its record of excellence. This achievement is marked by a significant increase in the number of research papers published in the Clarivate (Web of Science) global databases, which have now reached 3,727 papers, compared to last year.
This was announced by the Director of Scientific Affairs, Dr. Ali Salah Hassan, who explained that this achievement is the result of the university s ongoing efforts to enhance the level of scientific research and encourage researchers to publish their scientific outputs in prestigious international journals. At the same time, the university achieved a qualitative leap in the number of research citations, which totaled 42,804 citations, reflecting the significant impact of the university s published research in the global scientific community.
He added that the university also made notable progress in the Hirsch index (h-index), which is one of the most important global indicators for evaluating the quality of scientific research. This reflects the high quality and distinct scientific impact of the research published by the university. This achievement adds to the University of Babylon s record in serving science and society, affirming its prestigious position among Iraqi, Arab, and international universities
