The University of Babylon, represented by its President, Prof. Dr. Amin Al-Yasiri, was honored by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, during the conference titled "Iraq Without Drugs: Towards a Safe and Healthy Future," which was organized by the Research and Development Department of the Ministry. This recognition was given in appreciation of the university s outstanding participation in the activities of the Iraqi Week Against Drugs, held at Al-Nahrain University on February 25, 2025.
Prof. Dr. Amin Al-Yasiri received a gift from the Ministry of Higher Education and a certificate of appreciation presented by Prof. Dr. Lubna Khamees Mehdi, Director General of the Research and Development Department, in recognition of the university s distinguished efforts in combating drugs.
This honor reflects the University of Babylon s commitment to active participation in important community issues and its belief in its role in raising awareness among young people and protecting them against the dangers of drugs. It also highlights the university s commitment to building a generation that is aware and educated, capable of facing challenges and contributing to building a safe and healthy future for Iraq.
The conference was attended by senior officials from the Ministry and several university presidents. The Minister honored the presidents of distinguished universities for their achievements in organizing the activities of the Iraqi Week Against Drugs, including Prof. Dr. Amin Al-Yasiri, President of the University of Babylon.
