The University of Babylon hosted the sixth Babylonian Theater Festival after a 20-year hiatus, under the patronage and attendance of the university president, Professor Ameen Al-Yasiri, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Professor Amer Sabah Al-Marzouk. The festival was attended by the Governor of Babylon, Mr. Adnan Faihan Al-Dulaimi, and the Iraqi Artists Syndicate s president, Dr. Jabbar Joudi, along with several artistic figures, veteran artists, and youth.The festival opened with a photographic exhibition and a speech from the governor, who emphasized the importance of art in enhancing national identity and preserving Babylonian heritage. He praised the role of the University of Babylon in enriching culture and arts. The head of the Iraqi Artists Syndicate noted that the Babylonian theater embodies creativity and serves as a language of dialogue that reaches everyone. Meanwhile, the Dean of the College of Fine Arts highlighted that the festival reflects the university s and syndicate s vision to promote culture and support new artistic generations.The festival included various activities, such as a song titled "Babylon of Giving," honoring the festival s founder, artist Ghaleb Al-Ameedi, as well as performances of two plays: "Smoke" and "Glass Monster Statues." The first day concluded with a book signing event for a publication about the festival authored by artist Ghaleb Al-Ameedi.
