The President of Babylon University, Professor Amin Al-Yasiri, participated in the activities of the "Iraqi-Iranian Science Week," organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with the participation of over one hundred universities from Iraq and Iran. The conference was inaugurated with a speech by Dr. Haidar Abdul Dih, the Deputy Minister for Scientific Affairs, who outlined the ministry s ongoing efforts to enhance academic cooperation between Iraqi universities and their counterparts in various countries.Dr. Lubna Khamis Mahdi, Director General of the Research and Development Department at the ministry, presented a comprehensive overview of the achievements of Iraqi universities in multiple fields, particularly in engineering and artificial intelligence. She emphasized the significant role that Iraqi universities play in advancing scientific research at a regional level.The university president noted that the sessions covered several important topics related to developing scientific collaboration between Iraq and Iran, focusing on environmental sciences and how to cooperate in research and development to provide sustainable solutions to environmental challenges. Additionally, they discussed ways to enhance collaboration in science and technology parks to accelerate innovation and develop technological industries, contributing to strengthening the knowledge economy.Professor Amin Al-Yasiri concluded his remarks by stating that partnerships between Iraqi and Iranian universities, along with building bridges of cooperation in advanced scientific research, contribute to the development of joint academic and research programs between both sides.
