The University of Babylon has recently achieved notable advancements in both local and global rankings, particularly in the current period. It has made a significant leap in the AD Scientific Index 2025 compared to the previous year. Professor Amin Al-Yasiri, the esteemed president of the university, announced that it has secured the third position among Iraqi universities in this ranking, reflecting a continued trend of local excellence after being ranked fifth in the 2024 edition.Professor Mohammed Mansour Al-Khafaji, the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, emphasized that this qualitative leap is also evident on a global scale. The University of Babylon improved its position by 87 places, now ranking 3,437th out of more than 30,000 universities worldwide in 2025. This improvement indicates the university s commitment to enhancing research outputs and scientific publishing while adhering to international standards, reinforcing its leadership role in academic development.It is important to note that the AD Scientific Index ranking is based on various indicators such as the h-index, citation counts, and i10 index derived from Google Scholar data to evaluate the research productivity of universities and researchers.
