In 2024, the University of Babylon achieved significant progress in global rankings, reflecting the dedicated efforts of its faculty, researchers, and administrative staff. President Professor Amin Al-Yasiri highlighted that these accomplishments are the result of collective teamwork and commended all those involved in the university s ranking initiatives. He emphasized the ongoing commitment of faculty and researchers to pursue further achievements.The university secured top positions in various global rankings, including:
• First in Iraq for the UI GreenMetric ranking for sustainable development (119th globally).
• First in Iraq and 104th globally in the WURI ranking.
• Seventh in Iraq in the Times Higher Education (THE) ranking, with a global position between 1501+ and 2092.
Additionally, the university was recognized as the "Best Government University" during the Iraqi Science Day competition and received 13 distinguished scientific awards. It ranked among the top 10 Iraqi universities based on h-index scores and improved its institutional performance indicator for scientific research from a score of 79 in 2023 to 91 in 2024. Furthermore, it ranked first among Iraqi universities in a reading competition organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for 2024.President Al-Yasiri affirmed that these achievements reflect substantial progress at the University of Babylon, establishing it as a model for other institutions while striving for continued excellence and recognition on a global scale
