The University of Babylon has made significant strides in the Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025, a pioneering initiative by Times Higher Education in collaboration with Schmidt Science Fellows. This ranking evaluates universities based on their contributions to interdisciplinary scientific research, and in its first edition, it assessed 749 universities from 92 countries.The University of Babylon proudly secured the second position among Iraqi institutions, following the University of Baghdad, which ranked first globally at 161st. The University of Babylon, along with the University of Al-Mustaqbal and the University of Technology, shared the second position within the range of 301-350, while the University of Anbar ranked third at 401-500.The evaluation criteria focused on three key areas: Inputs (19%), which consider funding for interdisciplinary research; Processes (16%), which assess administrative support and success metrics; and Outputs (65%), which evaluate the quantity and quality of research publications and academic reputation. This achievement highlights the dedicated efforts of faculty, researchers, and graduate students at the university, who have collectively enhanced its global standing through original research and collaboration across various disciplines.
