The University of Babylon has achieved the third position among Iraqi universities in the global URAP ranking, and 2130th among international universities in the 2024/2023 edition, which included 3000 universities worldwide. The President of the University, Dr. Qahtan Hadi Al-Jubouri, stated that the evaluation of academic performance is based on various indicators, including scientific articles, citations, total number of research papers, overall article impact, overall citation impact, and international collaboration. Iraq was ranked 37th globally, with 13 competitive universities in The Times ranking. Iraqi universities and colleges have shown increasing competitiveness in other global rankings, such as the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, QS ranking, Scimago ranking, Greenmetric ranking, RUR ranking, and Webometrics ranking, demonstrating the growing presence and competition of Iraqi educational institutions on the international stage.
