With a database compiled by Stanford University researchers in collaboration with (Elsevier Digital Commons) and based on several scientific criteria for the efficacy of publishing and citation, the University of Babylon was ranked first among regional universities within the Stanford University classification for the top 2% of world scientists. Prof. Dr. Qahtan Hadi Al-Jubouri, the university s president, stated that this significant scientific accomplishment validates the university s academic research s objectivity and adoption of research indicators with accredited international scientific laboratories, for which the university has received numerous honors and ranks highly in national and international classifications.
He added that the university is an active supporter, within a professional path, of all steps that would improve the university s status and scientific mission, recognizing the role of professors and researchers in enhancing its reputation and academic capabilities, as the university received 23% of Iraqi universities, represented by (12) researchers from Origin (107) Iraqi researcher, and (200409) international researcher.
Dr. Muhammad Mansour Al-Khafaji, Assistant to the President for Scientific Affairs, explained that the American Stanford University had previously announced the selection of a list of 2% of the world s best, most distinguished, and influential scientists from among 180,000 scientists in 149 countries
He continued, "According to a study carried out by researchers from the esteemed Stanford University, this classification is issued annually. It is known in the academic community as (Stanford Classification), and the report is based on several factors, the most significant of which are the strength of international scientific publication, the number of scholarly citations for research, the Hirsch coefficient, and participation in reviewing and editing research. scientific journals with a somber tone
