Historical and Cultural babil center
Established 23rd October 2008, by the merge of the following centers:
Hilla Document Center Established 1994 by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education
(Law # 40 Dated 1988), to build up a cultural library of historical and linguistic
documents about the city of Hilla (Town Center of Today’s Babylon Governorate);
through seminars, conferences, research and developments of all levels including
the postgraduates (MSc & PhD), and related print and on-line publications. Herein,
this center built up a library of 1300 topics about the cultural nature of Hilla
city and Babylon Governorate; and the areas of study were extended to include the
city traffic, environmental, social, and scientific aspects.
Babylon Study Center Established 1997; and specialized in the pre-historic old civilization
of the Mesopotamia; and included the recovered archeological artifacts and related
cultures and civilizations. The library comprises 522 specialized books, including
previous foreign publications.
